Pokemon Emerald adalah seri ketiga dari game Pokemon generasi ketiga (Advanced Generation) setelah Pokemon Ruby dan Sapphire dengan lokasi provinsi Hoenn.
Sama seperti dua seri sebelumnya, di game ini kita akan menggunakan salah satu dari tiga pokemon starter yaitu Torchic, Trecko, dan Mudkip. Karakter yag kita mainkan pun masih sama, yaitu Brendan atau May (default name).
